Images processed from the PJ16_6 raw image framelets. The left version is an approximately true color/contrast image. In the right image the effects of the variable illumination have been removed and the contrast has been increased. This reveals various details in the dimly illuminated areas around Jupiter's north pole. Areas near the limb at lower left are overexposed because the exposure time was increased to better show the dimly lit areas near the north pole.
