A very high resolution (about 2.3 km/pixel at the nadir) closeup of a reddish spot in Jupiter's North Equatorial Belt near latitude 15 degrees north. Spots like this are common at this latitude. The spot is roughly 6500 km long in the east-west direction. North is to the upper right. This is an enhanced image, the contrast/color has been exaggerated and small scale features sharpened.
